Inventory Push
Inventory push is only available under the Pro Plan
Inventory push makes the Product Expiration Dates app the "source of truth" for your store's inventory, preventing you from having to enter the inventory in the Shopify Admin, then re-enter it with its expiration date/quantity breakdown in the app.
With inventory push enabled you enter your inventory quantities once in the Product Expiration Dates app and it will adjust the products' inventory counts in Shopify. When quantities in the app are added, updated, or deleted, the app will make the appropriate adjustments in Shopify.
Changes to product inventory via an new order or an order status change (refunded, restocked, etc...) are part of the Product Expiration Date app's default behavior. A Pro plan subscription is not required for this to work.
When inventory push is enabled inventory must only be entered into the Product Expiration Dates app. Do not modify inventory via the Shopify Admin. Values entered into the Shopify Admin will not be seen by the app because expiration dates and/or batch numbers cannot be entered into the Shopify Admin. For example, if you entered the following data in the Product Expiration Dates app for Product A:

2021-11-10, Quantity:7 - Expires:
2022-01-01, Quantity:12
These value will be pushed to Shopify and you will see a total available quantity of 19 in the Shopify Admin. If you change this to 30 in the Shopify Admin, the Product Expiration Dates app does not know what date(s) the new 11 must be associated with. Are they November 10th, January 1st, or something else? This is why inventory push cannot sync quantities entered into the Shopify Admin.
Enabling
- Make sure you're subscribed to the Pro Plan or higher
- Visit the settings page
- Select "Push edits made to inventory batch quantities to Shopify"
- Click the Update button to save your settings
In order to push inventory to Shopify expiration dates must have their location set.
Available and On Hand Quantities
By default Inventory Push sets the available quantity in Shopify. If you're subscribed to the the Premium plan you can configure it to set on hand quantities instead. This can be done from the settings page's Inventory tab by selecting "Set on hand quantity instead of available quantity".
Inventory Batch Assignment
When using Inventory Push you cannot assign inventory batches to a product when an order line is fulfilled. Only when an order is placed. This is due to how Shopify manages inventory quantities. They assign them to an order line when it is placed. Let's look at an example below.
If you enter a 10 quantity into the app, we assign 10 to the available quantity in Shopify. When an order is placed for a quantity of 2, Shopify reduces the quantity to 8, but in the app this quantity remains 10 until the product is fulfilled. If you then go into the app before this occurs and enter a quantity of 12, we will update Shopify's available quantity to 12, which would be incorrect.
Variants
When inventory push in enabled for a product with variants, any variant for the product that has not been entered in to the Product Expiration Dates app will have its inventory set to 0 in Shopify.
Bundles
Pushing inventory bundles will set the bundle's quantity as well as the quantities of the products it contains. For example, given the following products:

The bundle's quantity is set to the minimum quantity that can be purchased based on the quantities of the products it bundles. If a customer made a purchase of Product B with a quantity of 6, the inventories would be synced to the following:

Because My Bundle has a Bundled Quantity of 3 for Product B, and Product B only has 4 Inventory Available, My Bundle's Inventory Available is set to 1.
